The Journey...the future

Since performing my first public presentation in August 2018 at RACV Royal Pines Hotel, Qld, with Jarryd Byrne as a surprise for mum’s 90th birthday, I've now competed in several dance competitions with three instructors who have all been amazing. I've danced four competitions with Jarryd Byrne (Fit2Move) during 2018-2019, two competitions with Peter Cooper (Hit the Floor) during 2019, and more recently my first competition with Daniel Buckley (Mark Wilson Dance Studio).
I'm working on refining my skills on the new bionic leg – it’s not easy controlling the leg sometimes but I love the music, learning new routines and steps. I feel passionate about dancing and it's exciting to be whirling around the dance floor like Cinderella in beautiful dresses by my gorgeous partners.
Of course, I'm pushing the boundaries as prosthetic legs with three weight bearing joints are not designed to walk backwards, change direction quickly let alone dance, so falls and injuries happen from time to time. I just get up, dust myself off and practice harder – sometimes rest and icepacks are required!
I've met lots of wonderful new friends through dancing and it's been “best pledge I made in my life!” - Thank you TTNY
Along with continuing to dance, my next competition is just a few weeks away, so watch this space...
